He was born on January 1, 1973, in a farming family in Dohar Upazila of Dhaka district. His father was Chan Bepari and his mother Hajera Begum; both are deceased. He studied at schools and colleges in his village, later earning both bachelor’s and master’s degrees in management from the University of Dhaka. He is currently a professor at a government college.
He has published 19 books, including stories, novels, poems, essays, research works, and edited volumes. His first novel Mora Kotaler Jochona won the now-defunct Ajker Kagoj Literary Award. He has also been honored by various literary organizations in Bangladesh for his short stories.
In his thinking, he is consistently progressive. He believes that the Liberation War and independence are integral parts of our existence and national identity. For him, humanity is the highest religion, and divisions among people should not exist.

Alaul Hossain

Alaul Hossain born on July 3, 1980, in Kashinathpur, Pabna. He earned his Master’s degree with honors in Bengali Language and Literature. His father, the late Abul Hossain, a government officer, was also a distinguished literary figure and reciter. Under his guidance, Alaul began writing in 1995 by editing a literary magazine titled Janani. Later, under the mentorship of poet and playwright Habibur Rahman Tipu, a teacher of Bengali at Kashinathpur Shaheed Nurul Hossain Degree College, he fully devoted himself to writing.
In 1997, under Tipu’s leadership, he co-founded Proyas Cultural Group and Proyas General Library in Kashinathpur. He also established Kashinathpur Literary Circle and Kashinathpur Poetry Club. His writing spans poetry, short stories, prose, rhymes, and lyrical compositions.
After completing his Master’s in 2003, he began his teaching career at the renowned Alhera Academy in Bera, Pabna. He later taught at Kashinathpur Abdul Latif High School and National Ideal College in Dhaka. In 2007, he founded Skylark International School in Kashinathpur, and in 2017, Kashinathpur Science School, where he served as principal. Through these institutions, he created employment opportunities for over a hundred educated but unemployed individuals. Currently, he has stepped back from administrative responsibilities to focus on his teaching and writing. He serves as Lecturer in the Department of Bengali at Mashundia Bhabanipur Khondkar Jobeda Begum Degree College in Bera Upazila. Alongside teaching, he works as a local correspondent (Bera) for the Dhaka-based daily newspaper Amader Shomoy.

He has edited several literary magazines and small journals, including Ritwik, Proyas, Srijon, Chatak (children’s paper), Kaktaruya (children’s paper), and Muktachinta (magazine).
Music Contributions:
Alaul Hossain has written nearly fifty songs, many of which have been composed, recorded, and released as music videos. Prominent Bangladeshi singers such as Kamruzzaman Rabbi, Saju Ahmed, Pradip Das, Pujon Das, Biplob Dutta, Sunil Sutrodhar, and Champa Bonik—among about fifteen vocalists—have recorded his songs, which are available on various YouTube channels.
